One of my most prized possessions is a 5th edition copy of The Second Treatise of Government by John Locke, printed in 1764. In it, he argues that humans are born with natural rights given by God and that the government's job is to protect those rights, not violate them. I will never violate your rights.

      Before COVID, most people never really thought about who the mayor was—after all, only 10% of the population votes in city council elections. Some mayors became dictators, shutting down cities and even sending the police after those who disobeyed them. I promise I will never restrict your freedom.

     In my private practice, I took many precautions to protect my patients, such as wearing an N95 mask, spacing patients apart, and allowing high-risk individuals to exit through the back door instead of returning to the waiting room where staff was present. However, that was my personal decision in my practice. I will never stop you from going outside and enjoying the earth that God has provided.
